First international mahjong tournament in Villejuif !

The Cup, is the great final of the annual competition between the members of the 3 clubs of Paris area (Ile de France) : Magic Mahjong Social Pung, Mahjong Anime and Fleur d'Orchidée. It is the closing tournament of the season 2009-2010. As every year, this tournament counts double in our system of classification interclub ( Top Tournament). But this year, this tournament is opened to European players and also counts for the European classification: thanks to support of the FFMJ, the tournament was certified MERS-1 by the EMA.

Registration fee : 15€ including Saturday lunch (sandwiches)

The official language of the tournament will be English.

  Details of the tournament  

The tournament will take place on SATURDAY, JUNE 26TH, 2010, following the schedule indicated below.


The tournament will take place in 4 rounds of 105 minutes (1:45) each.
During each round, at each table, the winner will obtain 4 table points, the second will obtain 2 points and the 3rd will obtain 1 point; the last one does not mark any point. The classification of the players is made by accumulation of the table points acquired in each round. In case of equality the accumulated scores will decide between the players.

This tournament is both an individual competitionand a team competition. Each player is a member of a team of 4 players, the individual results of which will be accumulated. Players without a team will be placed in teams by the organizers.

During the three first rounds, players will be randomly placed (but so that 4 players of the same team cannot be in confrontation). At the conclusion of these 3 rounds the classification by team will reveal the team which will be rewarded.

For the final round, the players will be placed depending on the order of their classification obtained during the first 3 rounds: the classified players 1, 2, 3 and 4 shall play together on the 1st table, the players 5, 6, 7, 8 on the 2nd, etc.
The points obtained during this round will be added to those obtained during the previous 3 rounds to create the final individual classification.
The first 3 players will be rewarded.

The tournament has a MERS-1 coefficient for the European classification.

  Schedule of the tournament  

The reception of the players and the drawing lots will start at 9:30 am.

10h15 - 12h00 :	1st round
lunch break
12h45 - 14h30 :	2nd round
14h45 - 16h30 :	3rd round
16h45 - 18h30 :	final round

The prizes ceremony will take place from 7:05 pm during a cocktail party.

  Initiation of the visitors  

From 10:30 am till 5:30 pm, a group of trainers will be present on the premises in order to have visitos discover the subtleties of this game.

  Registration to the tournament  

The room cannot welcome more than 56 players.
The registrations to the tournament will last from May 1st till June 10th, 2010.
Registration are made by sending an e-mail to fleurdorchidee@free.fr.
Registrations will be made in the order of reception of e-mails.

Please indicate your name and your EMA number in the mail.

The registration to the tournament costs 15 €, payable on the spot; thank you for planning to bring the exact change.
This participation includes the Saturday lunch (sandwiches) and a drink, tea and coffee.
A paying refreshment room will also be at disposal of players during the breaks between the rounds.

If, once registered, you cannot come any more to the tournament, please send a message to the organization as soon as possible.
